The first round of the 2017 Pot of Gold Campaign was a time consuming but rewarding project. Each recruit received 50 cards (all numbered 1-50) that were printed in sheets and trimmed into 3" x 5" football cards. Each card is stamped with gold foil as well (similar to Notre Dame helmets). I have included the crop marks for reference. NCAA rules do not permit us to use photos of recruits that we take on campus during the recruiting process. In order to make these composites, we have to find a player on our team that matches their build. The numbers and head are swapped, and then the necessary color corrections are made. The back of the cards generated a lot of press with a predicted 48-10 score against Michigan. Michigan fans shared the project like wildfire and only gave the project more exposure.
We produced the same project in 2016 as well. This example showcases the packaging and presentation (something often overlooked in graphic design).
